Dollar Tree Finds

I am using these for a few different projects to come. They are so cute and sparkly. The 2 bags of 12 are for a Easter tree I am going to make, the ones on top that I have already removed the sticks from are going in my apothecary jar w/Easter grass, and the others you will have to wait and see.

I thought these where so cute.

I thought this bag was so pretty, but you will have to wait to see what I am going to do with it. :)

Shamrock Wall Decor

You might have seen my Valentine's version Here as I had said then this was my first intention for the cookie cutters.
I hot glued three of the same size cutters together to form a clover.
I hand painted, but spray paint would work much better (especially if you are as inpatient as me, trust me) once they where dry I cut some pipe cleaners for stems and hot glued them on. I tied them together with a thin gold ribbon and your ready to hang.

Lucky Clover Plate

I happened to find this candle plate at goodwill for a $1.00 and knew exactly what I was going to do with it.
I do not have vinyl but I have a cricut and a sticker maker. If you are worried about it coming off you could put a thin layer of mod podge over it also.

Lucky Banner

Gotta have a banner for our fireplace!
Shamrock paper from hobby lobby
cray paper
my cricuit with the cuttin' up cartridge

I cut 5 circles out and cut my letters to fit. Then I just started bunching up the cray paper on the back side taping it as I went. I hung it on some gold ribbon with some mini clothes pins I had on hand.

Pot of Gold

This project I thought of awhile back but now here it is sooo easy and cheap.
Materials:
2 bags Large novelty coins (Dollar Tree-party favors)- $1 each
Green Pot - Hobby Lobby- $1.99 reg price
large grocery paper bag or newspaper- free
Glue Gun- on hand
Gold spray paint-on hand or $2.50 walmart
1.Spray coins gold
2.Stuff pot with newspaper or paper bag to use as filler (and to glue the coins too)
3.Start gluing coins all around the edge and on top of each other to hide the paper
4. I still have to do this step if you haven't noticed - touch up any visible glue with gold paint.

St. Patrick's Day Mini Topiaries

I know Valentine's isn't even here yet, but I have a few St. Patricks day crafts that I have done ahead of time (I've even done some Easter/spring crafts but I will wait a little longer to post those. The Easter one I posted already was by acident). Anywho on with the craft, this picture doesn't do it justice the flowers have green and gold glitter on them and the greens in the pots are three leaf clovers. As usual I got everything at the dollar store or had it on hand.
Materials to make 2:
3 bushels of flowers ($1.00 each)
1 bushel of clovers ($1.00)
2 Mini pot ($1.00 for 3 or on hand)
2 Dowels (on hand)
Small foam block cut in half (on hand or a pack of 4 for $1.00)or something to hold the dowel in place.
2 Styrofoam ball about 1in (a bag of, I think 6 for $1.00)
Gold paint (on hand)
Hot glue
Play coins - I borrowed a few of my daughters play coins and sprayed them gold.

If you have made a topiary before everything else is pretty easy,
1. Glue flowers onto styrofoam ball until full
2. Paint dowel and pot gold
3. Insert dowel into bottom of styrofoam ball
4. Insert foam block into pot and insert the other end of dowel into pot
5. This was my tricky part I fought with the hot glue and the clovers to stay in the pot, I left them on there little stem groups and glued a bunch together then glued them onto the inside edge of the pot (my glue gun is very hot and kept melting the foam.)
6. Add a dab of hot glue to the coins and set on top of clovers

My original plan was to make 3 but I decided on a different look for my front entry table I will post a picture of that later.

Wood Easter Eggs

I had my grandpa cut out some egg shapes from some scrap wood for me. I then painted them some fun colors that would match my Easter paper I had on hand.  Then I mod podged some Easter paper on (the pink one I did mod podge paper to it so the texture wasn't different) I added some ribbon and a flower looking button, layered and glued then together with some wood glue and tied some sheer ribbon around the whole thing. (I did add some gray ink to the edges, front and sides but I'm not sure i like it as much as the brown antique ink)

2x4 St Patrick's Day Blocks

Here is my other 2x4 version like the one from "How Does She". I did it the same as I did the Valentine blocks. I painted the wood blocks and mod podged some cute scrap paper on them. I also used a magnetic thumb tack that I had on hand so I could update it year to year.

2x4 Sweetheart Blocks

If you remember I posted a link for some 2x4 ideas from "How Does She" well here is my version of one of my favorites. Of course I had to do it a little different I painted the wood blocks and mod podged some cute scrap paper on them. I also used some magnetic thumb tacks that I had on hand so I could update them year to year. This one I might just put on a shelf in my daughters room year round because I like it so much.

Valentine's "Wordle" Printable & Frame

This was another easy Dollar store or free craft.
I just used a frame I had on hand, took it apart and coated the frame with mod podged then sprinkled red glitter all over till it was covered. Easy as pie but it is messy!
The picture is called a Wordle from HERE. Check it out you just type words (if there are two words you want together you don't put a space between them you use one on these ~ , And if you want a word bigger then the rest you type it more then once. You can also change font, color, and layout.) Here is the words I used, just copy and paste into the text box and you can change the color, font and layout to your liking.

Entry Table

The tall vase/jar on the left is just a dollar store taper holder with a vase glued to the top. I tied some valentines ribbon to it and added some hearts (heart picks minus the pick) that I also got at the dollar store. (I plan on changing the ribbon and ingredients for each holiday I can.)
If you want to see how to make any check out the links

Heart Decor

Another easy craft! I had gotten these cookie cutters from Walmart they came in a set of 6 nestled in each other (six different sizes) for $2.88. I got three packs with the intention of making then all 3 leaf clovers (that picture to come!) but I needed something easy for a small wall by our front door so I just took the largest and the third largest and tied them together with some thin red ribbon I had on hand and voila! I would like to add something to the middle of the hearts but not sure what I could do, any ideas please share!

Adult Valentines Advent Calender

I wanted to make something for my husband and I for valentines so this is what I came up with. I made little pockets which I found a template for HEREand just cut off two of the pedals and added a heart with the date. I found these cute tickets HERE and I typed up some things to do (Like make a mix cd of your spouses favorite songs or songs that make you think of your spouse or send each other little love notes via text through out the day) and cut them to the same size as the tickets and taped them together (I am going to laminate them but I haven't gotten that far yet.) Nothing like a free project with everything I had on hand!

Rose Pedal Candle Holder

I found this idea HERE and thought it would be perfect for a valentines decoration. You can get a bag of rose pedals and glass candle holder at the Dollar Store. so it is super cheap to make, and you can make more then one with all the pedals you get.
Add a dot of hot glue to the bottom tip of the pedal and starting at the top of the candle holder attaching the pedal directly to the glass working your way all the way around. The next layer place pedals staggered from the first row and continue on till the candle is full making sure each row is staggered. The bottom row I attached to the bottom of the glass holder. Sooo Easy!!! I am going to make one with some red pedals next I will add a picture when I get it done.

Valentine Advent Calender

I found this idea HERE and thought it was sooo cute I had to recreate it. I did it a little different due to my non-existent sewing abilities and my supplies I had on hand but I still love how it turned out.
Materials:
Red, White and Pink felt
Scrap paper
Embellishments
glitter puff paint
Sewing Machine

1. I made 2 templates out of large poster board and traced them onto my felt (the larger scalloped edge one on red measured about 23in by 20in and the smaller one on white measured about 20in by 18in then cut them out.

2. Next I traced a stack of post-its on the pink felt to make my pockets (post-its were the prefect size)
3. I pinned and sewed the squares onto the white heart leaving the top of each pocket opened.
4. Once the pockets were all sewed on I then pinned the smaller white heart all the way around the edge on top of the red scalloped heart.
5. I then sewed all the way around the edge of the white heart.

6. I cut my numbers out of scrap paper with my cricut, added some rick rack to each pocket with glue, and added some stickers, buttons and puff glitter paint for some sparkle. TA DA!!! Love it.
Of course the best part about it add some goodies to the pockets.

Rose

I found this idea at Can't Stop Making Things check out her tutorial HERE
This was my test run rose. ( I was fighting to much with connecting them so I just ended up using my glue gun, I also used my heat gun instead of a candle) I do love how it turned out I am going to make a red one next, not sure what I'm going to do with them yet. Anyone have any ideas??

Valentine Soap Pumps

my Dollar Tree soap pumps.
I got some soap pumps with pink soap from the dollar tree, removed the labels with some goo gone and added some Valentine stickers I also got at the dollar tree.

(If you look close at the 2nd one it had some flowers on the back I double sided it to use for spring. You can't see it when it is sitting on our bathroom counter.)

Tealight Holder Candle Wrap

I found this idea awhile ago on HGTV but just never got around to making one, I needed some more simple valentine decorations so I threw them together, so easy.
Materials:
Vellum
Hole Punch
Scrap paper (optional)
stamp (optional)
ribbon
Cut 2 pieces of vellum to 6 1/2 by 3 1/2, round corners if you want, stamp images on one side of each vellum piece and let dry. Cut 2 pieces of scrap paper to 1 by 6 1/2 and glue or tape on bottom of vellum. lay vellum back to back and hole punch about half way up and tie together with ribbon. Place over votive cup and Voila!
You can also buy vellum with a design on it and only have to cut it out, hole punch, and tie with ribbon.
NOTE:I used a votive cup but only put a fake tealight in it, I'm not sure if the votive would get to hot and melt the vellum?!?!
