Glitter Snowman Ornament

I combined 2 different ornament crafts with this idea. The glitter filled and the handprint snowman
Both ideas came from Pintrest. The glitter filled instructions are Here (Sorry my picture doesn't do justice for the glitter it is much prettier in person) and the handprint snowman are Here she even has a cute saying that I retyped and attached to each ornament. My daughter is giving these to her grandparents and god parents.

Mod Podge Pumpkins

I found this idea Here and had to try it, I don't have a lot of fall decorations so I thought this would be a perfect addition, I only made one to start with cause I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I plan on making another one.
I got the pumpkin at the Dollar Tree and I had the thanksgiving paper in my scrapbooking supplies. All you have to do is rip the paper into pieces and mod podge them on to the pumpkin make sure you use plenty of coats of mod podge. Then let dry and you have a fun fall/thanksgiving decoration.

Bloody Candles

I found the candle holder at Goodwill for a $1.00 and spray painted it black. The taper candles where from the Dollar Tree, and I also purchased a red votive candle.
I started by lighting the taper candles and letting them melt down just a little then I held the red votive over the flame and let it melt/drip down the taper candles.

School Count Down

I found this cute idea HERE and thought it would fun for my daughter who will be starting 4k this year. It was very simple I started with the felt school bus from the Dollar Tree, glue, a piece of black scrap paper, and some chalkboard paint.
First I traced the bus onto the black paper and cut it out just inside my lines, then I painted the area where the windows on the bus are, let that dry, then glued the paper to the back of the felt. I attached a piece of ribbon and some chalk to the back and there you have it.

Paint Chip Art

I have seen ideas like this around blog land but lifecraftsandwhatever has a tutorial Here and so I was inspired by hers to make my own. (I need to put something on both sides of the picture thinking some candle sconce things.) This is made out of paint chip samples. I actually took a piece of my curtain along with me to Home Depot so I could match the colors to my living room. First I cut all the samples down to 3x3, then laid them out randomly to my liking. (I had to make mine 36x36 to have it centered and also cover an outlet from our TV that used to be mounted on the wall.)
I then cut a piece of plywood that we had in the garage to 36x36. I started using spray adhesive but found that to be to much of a pain so I switched to mod podge. First I painted a layer of mod podge in small sections (about 3-4 squares at a time) laid the squares tight to each other then brushed a light coat of mod podge on top, I used a small plastic scrapper and rubbed the mod podge around to give it a different textured look.
I let that dry over night,
then I used some dark stain my mom had and painted a heavy coat, wiped off and let dry. I did this about 3 times (until I got the aged look I wanted)
As for the edges (frame) I just hot glues some gross grain ribbon that I happened to find at the dollar store in a solid dark purple that matched perfect. I'm not sure if I am going to make a frame for it or not maybe down the road, as I have said before I have little patience for long projects and I am ready to get this on the wall in my living room!
All together this project only cost me a dollar! Gotta love that!
(paint chips - free / plywood, hot glue, stain, and mod podge - on hand / ribbon - dollar
This is by far the largest project I have ever attempted.)

Play Make-up

This was not my original idea I say it in blog land but can't remember where for the life of me (if you know please let me know so I can give credit where it is due)
My daughter loves to play with make-up so I made her, her own. All you need is some Dollar Tree blush, eyeshadow, compact and some dimensional magic. (By mod podge or diamond glaze) Just put a thin layer of the glaze on top of the powder.
Pop any bubbles with a pin.
(check on it frequently as new bubbles will appear and you want to pop them before it sets which happened to me).
Let dry over night and there you have it pretend make-up without the mess.
This would make a cute little girls gift.

Candy Jar

Here is the candy jar my daughter and I made for grandpa for fathers day.
(Sorry about the picture, it was easier to see and looked a little better without the candy). I wanted to use stuff from the garage so all I could find to use at the time was some orange snow fencing (if you saw my husbands garage you would be afraid to look too!) I cut one row off of the fencing and cut the length so that 1 square from each end over lapped perfectly and used some black electrical tape to hold it together. I then found some thicker green floral wire that I had got awhile back from the dollar store and wrapped it 4 times around the neck of the dish. I made a small swirl, wrapped the ends together and added grandpa's favorite peanut M&M's. We wrapped it in some cellophane and tied a little printed note:
perfect for grandpa's desk.

Candy Fishing Bait Gift Box

These are the gifts my daughter and I made for Fathers day.
Dad's gift was of course the fishing box
I started off by spray painting the lids hunter green, then I printed the labels that I found on k mckay designs. (I love her ideas/printables!) on some green design scrapbook paper, We then mod podged the labels on the front and top of the jars and lids.
We filled the baby food jars with some Swedish fish, gummy worms and some other of dad's favorite candies. I found a set of 3 wood boxes at walmart for 6.00, I used the one that fit the jars best and painted it brown. Then mod podged the label on the front. (I did tie a small fishing weight to 2 of the jars with some twine to add a little more decoration, I also added some brown shredded filler to the bottom of the box).
Here is a close up of the jars

Firecrackers

I found a dowel in my grandpas wood stash and decided to make some firecracker's
I cut 3 different lengths and painted them. For the white one I taped off 3 stripes and painted 2 blue and one red, and the other 2 I just punched out some stars on white paper and used my sticker maker to adhere them. The sparkly pics I found at either the Dollar Tree or the dollar spot in Target (sorry can't remember), I just drilled a small hole in the top center and stuck them in, and then topped it of with a cute bow (I got the ribbon on clearance at walmart, I also put a dab of hot glue between the dowels to hold them together.)

4th of July Candle Holder

I found some 4th of July/Memorial Day stickers at Hobby Lobby while I was looking four some scrapbook stuff and I really liked them. Knowing I had an extra square candle holder at home. I knew right away what I wanted to do.
This was so easy it is just a square candle dish from the Dollar Tree and the clear stickers I found.

GOD BLESS AMERICA Candles

Sorry about the lack of posts lately, I took a short break from my crafts after all the birthday and mothers day stuff. But I'm back now and have a few new easy 4th of july crafts I have been throwing together.

My original plan was to make USA candles. I had gotten 3 alter candles from the Dollar Tree awhile back but put it off due to the fact that it wasn't even spring yet. I found some 3D stickers and some flag paper at Hobby Lobby and changed my mind. I cut the 12x12 flag paper into 3 even pieces and taped them around the candles then stuck the stickers on. I think it could still use something but I'm not sure what, any ideas? Please let me know, I would love to hear them!

#1 Balloon Wreath

BIRTHDAY PROJECT #1
Balloon Wreath
I originally found this idea Here but I have seen many versions of it around blog land, so here is my version. I apologize for no other how to pictures I am really bad at remembering to take them I get very engrossed in my projects.
Supplies:
wreath form (I used straw)
800 Water Balloons (1.00 for 100 pack dollar tree)
3 packs floral greening picks (600 about)
1 sheet tissue paper
matching scrapbook paper

Yes I used 800 balloons, You wouldn't need that many balloons but I wanted mine really full plus I used water balloons which are a lot smaller, I also added some ribbon in matching colors.
Start by taking a pick, stick the balloon in the middle and stick it into the wreath (about every other one, I used 2 different color balloons together in one pick to make it fuller.) Just do this OVER and OVER and OVER. I didn't cover all of the wreath.
I cut some tissue paper to cover the back side and just tucked it under the balloons using the picks along the inner and outer part of the circle where I stopped. (I wanted it to look a little nicer then just straw) I then cut out HAPPY BIRTHDAY with my cricut and glue/taped the letters on.

PB Knock off Candles

This idea originated at Christmas when I made some candles with sheet music tissue paper but I never took pictures before they got packed away. Well I needed some candles for Easter/Spring so here is a short tatorial on how to make them.

Materials:
Tissue paper (mine is from the dollar store)
Heat gun or hair dryer.
OPTION 1
1. Tape a piece of tissue paper to a piece of printer paper making sure that the tissue paper is the side that it will print on and print your image.
2. cut around your printed image making sure that the tissue paper will fit onto the surface of the candle.
3. Place tissue paper on candle so its where you want it (flat and even) hold in place tightly
4. Heat up so that the tissue paper just lightly disolves into the candle and TaDa!

OPTION 2
1. Purchase printed tissue paper cut the tissue paper to the exact diamiter and hieght of the candle.
2. Place tissue around candle flat and even, hold in place tightly (you can tape it but be careful when you get closer the taped edges)
3. Heat up so that the tissue paper just lightly disolves into the candle, working you way around the whole candle.

Monogram Wreath U

This wreath I made for our door.
The U and the yarn I scored at Goodwill for 1.00 total, the wreath form again from the Dollar Tree, and the flower premade bunch from Hobby Lobby for 5.00. I attached the letter to the wreath with clear fishing line.

Monogram Wreath H

I made this one as a gift for my best friend for letting us stay with them when we visited.
The wreath form is from the dollar tree, I wrapped it in some yarn, then hot glued some flowers on that I got at hobby lobby. The letter I got from goodwill for .25 and just painted it blue. I attached it with some clear fishing line so it looks like it's floating. Total cost under $10.00. (the wrapping of the yarn around the wreath took awhile but it let me catch up on some of my shows on the DVR)

Easter Countdown

I saw this in blog land last year so I'm not sure where it originates (sorry) but I thought it was a cute countdown idea plus i had everything on hand so it was free-- even better!!
I used an egg carton and painted it purple (this was a little time consuming due to all the little cracks and crevices) then I added just a little Easter grass and some plastic eggs. I then stuck some fun number stickers I had on hand, and made a cut sign on picnik.

Easter Wall Decor

I have a skinny wall space between our bathroom and a closet and i had some Dollar tree egg picks left so here is what I made.
I just removed the pick, carefully cut each egg in half, glued them onto some easter ribbon I had on hand, and moved the bows that where on the bottom of each egg to the top and glued them.
